This last two weeks I’ve had the pleasure of working with the lovely people from Enpresagintza Fakultatea/Facultad de Empresariales – Mondragon Unibertsitatea as we’ve taken PUBLISH OR PERISH on tour!
With the aim of writing a great scientific article and getting it published, we’ve worked on:
✦ writing and communicating clearly
✦ structuring a paper
✦ highlighting your scientific contribution
✦ common errors for Spanish speakers
✦ appropriate register and tone
✦ writing a cover letter that makes a convincing case for publishing your paper
✦ responding appropriately (and diplomatically) to reviewer comments
A really engaged group, thank you all for your participation, can’t wait to collaborate with you in the future.
PUBLISH OR PERISH 2023
Today marks the 10th anniversary of Publish or Perish—the ultimate guide to writing and publishing a scientific paper!! To date, more than more than 63 papers have passed through our doors, with a 90% publication rate in top tier journals.
Nine doctoral students from Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa took part in the workshop this year, focussing on writing and communicating clearly and with impact.
A big thank you to Jone Arroitajauregi from the MGEP library team, who cleared up all our doubts about referencing, permissions, plagiarism, and author profiles.
⚡️A really dynamic and engaged group, thank you all for your participation. Can’t wait to work with you on your papers in the second phase. ⚡️
An interesting article from the BBC about what happens to our brain when we speak multiple languages.

“Going above and beyond” is an expression we use to refer to making extra effort or doing more than is required, especially in a way that exceeds expectations. This interesting article from the BBC looks at how “going above and beyond” at work has become normalised almost to the point that it is required:
Imagine your local/provincial/national public servants speaking to you in words and terminologies you actually understand… Way to go NZ!!
Anyone want to take a guess at which language the BBC is talking about ? ?
An interesting article about a new communication system inspired by an aboriginal language.
? We’ve just wrapped a series of 4 COMMUNICATION WORKSHOPS with the Process Engineering Group at Petronor, S.A. Twelve members of the team participated in some very dynamic sessions on: Negotiating an Outcome in English, Managing a Crisis Meeting, Effective Written Communication, and Presenting with Impact. ??
⚡️Fantastic work from everyone who attended, we all had a lot of fun. Can’t wait to see you again soon ⚡️
